Will a Tupperware container lets say 10 inches long 6 inches wide and 2 inches of sand in it suck up my coppersafe ?

If you use coral sand, it will absorb a little bit of copper. I use non-carbonate freshwater aquarium sand for this use. However, if you just test copper every few days and compensate for any minor loss, you’ll be fine.
