I would assume Brook being a clownfish and the mucous... but I am by no means an expert on disease

@Jay Hemdal @vetteguy53081
Will the coppersafe kill it?I just got the coppersafe and all fish are in QT. I just added 6ml I will reach the 17.5ml in 3 day period. I can only assume the lunar wrasse brought the parasite in cause all my fish are affected by this. I gave everyone a freshwater dip for 5 min on some of them and 8 min on others.

I'd wait and see if any #fishmedic can chime in. If you've got multiple fish infected, may not be brook. Very common in clowns, can infect everyone but usually clowns.

Videos of other fish under white light will probably help with diagnosis if you can get some

Is this velvet
That’s not velvet. It is either really advanced ich, or more likely, Brooklynella. As mentioned, copper doesn’t work well against Brook. Formalin is best, but tough to get and is pretty toxic. You can try ruby reef rally pro, but that often fails in treating advanced cases like this.

What was the genesis of this? How did the clown look over the past three days? If it had spots, then this could be advanced ich, and you’ll want to get the copper up to a full dose today, taking three days is too long.

I had a Clown dead this morning. He had no spots what so ever on him but was breating very heavy the last 3 days. Now the one in the picture was eating yesterday but was breating pretty heavy along with the other one the last 3 days I notices the film on his body yesterday it was hard to see so it could of been there previously today there was no mistaking it. My hippo has been infected with white spots for 9 days. As I said earlier Treated with fixich. Which seemed to work or atleast faked me out that it worked the last time I used it but not this time. Now my tang has a bloch spot on him. I'll try to get a picture.

Seeing all the screenshots you are uploading. For YouTube you just need to login and go to "Your Videos". There should be a create or upload button somewhere from there. Once the video is uploaded upload the link here.

The clown likely does have Brooklynella. There also be a concurrent case of ich in the tank.

Once fish loss begins due to protozoans, it gets tough to stop in time.

I would get the copper up to a full dose right away and start dosing with ruby reef rally pro (since I’m presuming you can’t get formalin?)

Ok so I have 15 gallons to treat how much will I need for the 3 day recommended treatment of the ruby ?Also with the coppersafe what do I do for evaporation of water does the medicine evaporate also or does it stay stable. I calculated my water volume and it 14 gallons may be 13.5. I added 17.5ml of copper safe. I was told if I calculate the volume correctly and add the medicine precisely. I will hit the mark and that's what I did using a ml suringe. Cause I don't have a meter yet. Boy this is overwhelming.

Copper doesn't evaporate, so just calculate the dose carefully.

I'm not sure how much ruby reef you will need, just follow the label instructions. You can also use it as a dip, 1 tsp per gallon for an hour and a half with good aeration.

Thank you for all the help. So do you think the wrasse brought this in? Being all this happened after I got him on Feb 6th. Or does brook lay dormant and just came about Or did the ich bring it on? The only fish I have left is fire fish, diamond watchman gobie, hippo, and lunar wrasse. The hippo is still alive. So with evaporation. I just add water as needed and no more brook? Last question how long do I need to let DT lay dormant I heard 72 days any way to speed it up ? Thanks again.

60 days dormant at a temperature of 80 f or above will work for both ich and brooklynella.

Sorry - I can’t say what brought the disease into the tank.

Yes, with evaporation, most people replace that with just RODI water. You do want to monitor the specific gravity to make sure that it stays in range.

My hippo looks so much better just after one night. Came out and ate. And the cloudiness is gone in the wrasses eye. Hopefully they don't have brook. I think if they did they would be dead by now. I hope it was only the clowns that had brook or even just a severe case of ich. I D K. OUT OF NINE FISH I have 4 left. But my gobies is not liking his temporary home. Can I put some thing in there for him to sift? He is eating pellets.

Some people put a small dish of non calcium sand in a tank for gobies to sift in - but it doesn’t always work for me.
