Does anybody test for iodine/iodate?

If so do you supplement for them?

I have been reading that typical iodine supplements get stripped out of the water fairly quickly by the skimmer and to compensate by supplementing iodate. If this is true, what are you using to dose iodate?

i use kent iodine, usually add about 10ml a month (which is a very small amount, this is the weekly recommended dosage on the bottle) . in most cases water changes weekly supply enough iodine to not need dosing. i dose iodine for my softies, seems to keep them happier and ive been told it helps with shrimp molts.
