Waterbox shipping is slow

Update on my delivery for everyone. I believe it took a total of ~10 weeks to arrive (ordered Nov 11th arrived on 23rd of Jan). It was a huge let down when it did arrive though. After carefully assembling everything (stand and glass aquarium) I decided to fill it for a leak test. Mind you, I have ordered and setup many tanks/stands from many common retailers over the 10+ years as a reefer (Red Sea, JBJ, IM). So I know that this is the most important step in the setup. Brass tacks, it didn't pass muster! Not exactly sure what the issue was and doubt they can tell me either as it seems I'm always chatting to sales folks. It could have been small imperfections? The bottom right back panel had many cracks with pieces of glass literally falling out (its going to be a project just to get this safely out of my home). It could have been a couple punctures on the box at delivery. I didn't think anything of it as it didn't seem "too" serious. It could be the stand construction? It doesn't seem to be well thought out as the top piece isn't one solid piece holding all pieces of the aquarium (it rests on one top piece and two side pieces). It could have been the foam pad cut too short on both ends. I am hoping it was just a delivery issue though (I don't think Fed Ex is the best freight service IMO) and not imperfections...

After sending them a few pictures and video, they decided to send me a new tank. I feel as if they think it was an issue with shipping? Ok they are the experts? SO, I wanted to see how long it would take them to resend a new tank. Initially they were very subjective with their answer. So I asked for a full refund. Then they came back and said it would go out 2/17-2/27 with a few days for delivery. So the end of the month? Bottom line, I decided to be patient and allow them to rectify the issue and send the new glass aquarium. I am just hopeful that it is solid and not leaky! I do still have my doubts though as I have never seen anything like this in all my years (have seen plenty of RSR seem failures, but never broken back panel in that manner). TBD...

Thanks for sharing! I also ordered mine in November and still have no idea when they’ll be shipped. Initially, they said they expected shipment around mid-January, but that obviously didn’t happen. I followed up and was told to be patient and to allow a few more business days. I plan to contact them again this Friday, which will mark more than 10 business days. It’s really frustrating.

Joining this thread late, but I am having similar issues. Ordered the 65.4 AIO on Dec 2 through BRS, never heard anything about shipping so I contacted WB in early January. They said it would ship 1/20-1/30. Those dates came and went and I heard nothing about an updated shipping window. Contacted them today and they said 2/17-2/27. Really hope this is true but already setting myself up to be disappointed. I think I will cancel if it doesn't ship by the end of this month. For anyone that has canceled the order, do you have to pay a fee?

They should never charge a fee for cancelling an order that was promised as typically 4-6 weeks and exceeds that. I have a tank that's been on order since Nov. 7 with no shipping update. Granted it's a large Tank so I am aware that it will take longer. The thing that bothers me is they have my Money since it's already paid for, so I lose about $25 for every month it's late.

OK. I contacted Waterbox again. This time, they refused to provide any specific shipping window for my order. Two weeks ago, they told me it should be “a few more business days,” but nothing has happened. At this point, it feels like they are playing the game from the beginning.

For anyone considering a new Waterbox tank: if you have plenty of time, ordering may be fine—as long as you’re prepared to wait. Otherwise, you may want to explore other options. With the Chinese Lunar Holiday approaching, it seems unlikely that anything will move forward until the end of February. I’m now seriously considering canceling my order. Mine is a 190.5 tank.

February 17–27 seems unlikely, as the Chinese Lunar New Year falls on February 17, and the holiday period could last 10–15 days.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I wasn’t holding out how anyway but I think that might just push me towards canceling. I think I can use this “situation” to convince the husband to upgrade to a larger tank on the new order. lol

They just updated the estimated delivery window to mid–late March. If there are no further delays, it will have been nearly four months since the order confirmation. I’m very disappointed with this situation.

As of today, their website still states:

Standard Lead Time: 4–6 Weeks for the 190.5

This is quite misleading.

I posted on this earlier today but it was lost. Standard Lead Time: 4–6 Weeks is calculated using business days which I've never heard of. I'm still waiting on my order placed in early November with no shipping info whatsoever. ☹️

My post from this morning was lost as well. Something strange is going on.

I’m fine with a 4–6 week lead time, even if they calculate it using business days. But four calendar months is far beyond 4–6 weeks, even by business-day standards. I would have appreciated it if they had been transparent from the beginning and clearly stated that the lead time would be significantly delayed due to the holidays.

I’ll call the CC company to hear their suggestions. My concern is that WB may postpone the shipping again after the end of March...

This is what bothers me the most about the delays. It’s one thing if it’s billed once it ships. It’s another thing to pay in full for an advertised 6-8 week delivery and 3 months later there is still no sign of a real, reliable ship date.

It’s a pretty sizable amount of money for them to be holding for what is looking like will push to 4+ months

Still waiting on that 150.4 since November

I agree, way too long and I could be waiting even longer considering it's the largest system they make. They do this on purpose because the reality is they would lose a lot of business if they advertised 4-5 months lead time.

Update on my previous post. They new tank arrived and I have it successfully setup and hold water. I DID however purchase another mat to support (innovative marine product) the questionable gap in between the edge of the stand and the tank. I am hopeful this will last longer than my RSR 250 did, but have my doubts as the seams are very similar and has a front floating glass piece. Time will tell, but after 4 months of waiting from initial order, I have it setup and my daughter loves it! Got two fish last night to surprise her today with. :) I'll upload some pics for you all and maybe even start a thread?

Hello, just curious, have you get your order yet, what happen? I was looking at their tanks and after reading this, don't think is a good idea. Just don't want to wait so long.
