I have a JD frag 1 month since shipping. Regaining color very slow. This is one to have patients with.
Seems to be responding to Red Sea A/B

This piece has a very very long backstory. There are literally endless threads about it(and I encourage you to read them, they're long) but TLDR its a sweet piece that takes forever to grow. Maybe by next year we might get some actual growth

IMO it's probably one of the oldest High Ends in the SPS game. Was a unicorn for awhile but seems to be more available here in the past several months. Price wise it's held it's value pretty good. Reasoning for that is lack of availability, how slow it grows and how finicky it is. I'm on my second frag here within 6 months. First one came in healthy, within a month it started to STN and never recovered. The day I knew it was a goner I bought another one and so far this one has been rock solid.

If you're a high end SPS collector this one should easily be in your top 5.

One of the oldest? What about 500$ efflo, the 20k (and other) lokani, and purple monster? The jaw dropper still feels pretty new to me but either way I would love to be able to try and grow it one day. So all of you that are growing it please let it grow and just don’t touch it until it’s a colony.

Looks like a good start topshelf! I hope you (and everyone else who has it) can supply many frags in the future and get this coral propagated well, thanks for sharing the updates.

Have patience... mine still looks like that after many months, but has grown a bit. I have a bad feeling that by the time that mine is large enough to frag some, it will be a $100 coral. :)
Yup.....didnt those golden basket GMKs do that?! Lol
Oops that comment was from last year lol.

Any update? Should get this thread back going

This was the last picture we took of the colony. It was a few months back though. We will have to get a new one to share with everyone.
