What’s wrong with my new green chromis?

Just got these green chromis today, they’re in a QT. Doesn’t look like ich but what should I use and what could it be?

Chromis tend to establish pecking order by beating each other like clowns. Those are bite marks.

Wow thats soo weird, there’s 3 of them, do you think I should get more to make it a bigger school or will they be fine in just a school of 3

For the most part, with chromis is hit and miss when it comes to schooling. I have 3 and they are still alive. I've had them for about 4 or 5 months.

Chromis will get these marks when lights are out. I believe it’s to disguise themselves for protection. Once the lights come on, they go back to normal. I’ve been keeping chromis for a couple of years. Completely normal.

Is there anyway to know if I need a larger school?

I currently have 8. 4 have been with me for nearly 2 years. They may pick the weaks out as many people say. But once they settle in, they are just like any other fish. If you have quite a few other types of fish that swim in the open, chromis will shoal together. Some have luck and some don’t. I always prefer to get chromis together that are the same size to mitigate aggression.
