What 4 Bulb T5 Combination Do You Run!?!?

Just wondering what you guys run and what you feel like is the best for coral color and retaining it. I recently obtained a 4 bulb light to replace my pc's and am wondering which combination would be good.

I run 7 ati BLUE+, BLUE SPECIAL and a fiji purple

I am running 3 Blue+; 2 AquaBlues and a Fiji Purple.
When I had a 4 bulb fixture I liked 2 Blue+, 1 Aqua Blue and the Fiji.

Thanks for posting this question since I am thinking about getting a 4 bulb fixture and would like to know what a good combo would be for it. I have heard from at least 2 members in our club that when they swithched to the fiji bulb a few of their corals reacted poorly(bleached etc) to it. When they switched it out for another bulb things went back to normal. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. Sorry for the mini hijack...

For a 4 bulb:
ATI blue plus
ATI purple plus
ATI blue plus
ATI blue plus

Two blue +, a purple +, and and aquablue special. If you like it more blue then go with three blue + and a purple +. Either of those combos should give you great color

Do you like the fiji better than the purple+?

I have switched them out and don't see a difference in color. I don't know yet about long term effects.

I've tried a few different combos such as going with 2x blue+ & 2x Aqua Blue Speczial (too white imo) also, 3x Blue+ & 1x Fiji Purple (just wasn't happy) you gotta play around with what you like, it's not easy and everybody has different tastes

I run on my 4x 24" bulb tek fixture as of now

Blue +
Blue +

i run 8-39 watt KZ super blues with my 3-250watt MH....... beautiful color and real nice growth

I run 2 blue+ and 2 aqua blue specials now. I tried the 2 blue +, a purple +, and 1 aquablue and it looked too purple. If you add another blue instead of the aquablue though, I liked that. The old lady said it was too blue though.

I think you'll be happy with this setup, it all about what pleases your eye though. If you needed to swap out a bulb for a different color it shouldn't be too difficult to find a buyer given the popularity of ATI bulbs.

i run half and half Blue plus and AquaBlues. so i would suggest 2 blue plus and 2 aquablue. might be to blue for you thuogh

That's a good way to start out. Three Blue+ might be too much for your tastes, maybe not. The Aquablue special will look while compared to the Blue and Purple +'s. I have a six bulb TEK and ended up with 4 Blue+, 1 Fiji Purple, and 1 Aqua Blue Special. I have mostly LPS, and had to run only 4 bulbs while they were new. Just do whatever Jason says. :snicker:

ATI Blue+
Actinic 03 (no name)
10k (no name)
ATI Blue+

If I swap out the No Names for a Purple and a BLue Special is my tank going to be overly BLUE? yes, I know everyone has an opinion ojn what "too much" and "too little" blue is haha.
I love my ATI Blue+ bulbs!

Yea so true, he has 2 blue +, figi purple, and blue special in the fixture i just got from him, and I was wondering what I should get to try some new things. And he has always has had a nice lps tank.
