Hey @Crabs McJones,

So I'm QT all coral and frags prior to display. How do I complete iradicate these? And does the other coral base normal or is that vermetid too?

How do vermetid spread? Is there prevention methods?

They all look like vermedit snails. Best way is to starve them out. Their numbers depend on how much extra food is available in the tank.

Completely irradiate may not be possible. Super glue the tips for now. Those will die but you may see them again. They’re more of a nuisance than anything.

I guess that’s a hammer in the first pic. No idea what the purple is. Try putting it back in the water close to the glass and take another pic. Things look different and sometimes lose shape out of the water.

I'm currently roid teice a week, and mysis twice a week for elegance. Should I completely stop feeding? There are no fish in this frag QT tank

Dont completely stop feeding. You don't want your coral to suffer. As stated above I don't know you'll ever fully get rid of them.

When I was cycling a tank with LR, I noticed I had them growing on the rock. I superglued any that I could see. They’re hard to pick off because of their hard base. You can even crush them if you want. But I didn’t feed the tank at all while doing a roughly 2 month cycle. They still came back. So starving them might not be possible.

So to understand correctly. Your saying its inevitable that everyone will get them

Oddly I’m my current set up I don’t have them. They usually come in on LR or corals. I’ve just been lucky with my current set up. Dry rock, coral dipping, quarantining, etc. But hey, I may have some that I just can’t see.

My display is completely clean. Dry rock, dry sand etc. But, I've been QT all coral and inverts prior to display, and now have noticed this. I'd hate to introduce them into my display

How do they spread? So if it's on a frag plug. Can I not just remove the coral from the plug?

I have some weird stuff that I find in my tank all the time. I seeded my current tank with water from one of my other ones. I still got hitchhikers from that! Spirorbid worms, all types of pods, snails, bristle worms, hydroids that come and go. I find that having a good variety of these tend to keep each other in check. In my other tank, I tried to keep it too clean and remove every pest I saw and it felt like a never ending battle. In this other tank, by letting everything live together, things are actually they way I want them. Kind of odd.

Those look like palys? Either way, softies are tricky and I’ve never tried it. Wouldn’t know how to glue them back. For something like a hammer or other LPS that has its skeleton attached, you can definitely remove it from the plug.
