Crabs in any way shape or form. Had an emerald crab that went rogue and started munching on corals, have a now unusually large hermit who started munching on my caulerpa and snails despite being well fed already. He killed my trochus snail on its first day in the tank specifically, I guess he really liked the shell.
I really love the look of pom poms and porcelains but I don't think I will ever get any..
Crabs are opportunistic jerks :<

Some people think certain shrimp pick at their zoanthids and that their hermits are model citizens. While some refuse to have any type of crab in their tank but feel like shrimp are an integral member of the clean up crew!

What about you?

What cleanup crew (cuc) inverts do you refuse to keep in your reef aquarium and WHY IS THAT?

I do not use arrow crabs. In the past they disturbed my corals and fish

I got so confused as to why all those snails and pods were on there and I was about to start reevaluating getting snails again haha

Any crab unless it is an emerald crab, or small species of hermits, I just have too bad of a problem with bubble algae, once it is gone, out goes the emerald crabs.

edited to put an extra 'o' on too

I've found the only snails my hermits try to eat are the weekend ones. Hermits are goofy, gangly, and weak. Even the large ones I've had would struggle to take down all but maybe dwarf ceriths when they're healthy, and those snails are adept hiders. IMO a healthy top crown snail should never be able to be tipped over by a hermit (even larger reef safe ones like electric blues and halloweens)
