We all like to treat our Coral with dip and maybe some of us don't do it or never have at all.
I would like to know, what is the coolest hitchhiker that has made their way into your tank?
Through buying Coral, live rock or live sand or anything. It would be interesting to find out if anyone has gotten lucky with a beneficial creature that rode the Coral or rock to your tank. I hear all about these creatures like Flatworms, Bristleworms, Red Bugs that almost everyone wants to keep out, but I never hear about things you want to keep in.

The coolest thing I've gotten so far was a brittle star, which is also basically the only thing I've gotten, as everything else that tried it was something I did not want in my tank, like aiptasia.

I think the winner is the guy on here who got the emerald green mantis shrimp, though.

In my IM 20 tank, a little baby pencil urchin snuck in with my KP live rock. So small that I didn't see it for more than six months, until one day my wife called me over and said, "What's that?"

I suspect that I got either a pistol shrimp or a mantis shrimp in that same shipment of live rock, though it went into my Reefer 350. I used to see something shrimp-like hiding in the live rock, and I occasionally hear a series of clicks come from the tank.

So cool to see what things have made their way into your tanks and I really like how it's all different :p

Whatever this guy is some how made it throw shipping on LR wrapped in newspaper, then made its way through a cycle, and a cleaning with a brush. When I first saw it, it was about 1/4 inch. 2 years later when fully open it's 4 inches long 2 wide. It resides in my sump, after filter pads and a skimmer. Somehow it still get foods. Sump sits in darkness unless I'm cleaning something.
