I do this.
Fish, anemones, coral.
Bare hands all the time
I did, too. Then I spent 8 days in the SICU with a team on stand by to amputate my left arm. Now I always wear gloves.

I’m a germophobia so no bare hands for me. I got 2 pairs of those arm-length gloves and long aquarium tongs. If I gotta frag something, latex gloves. Glad you’re ok now.

I had a very small, mostly healed cut on my thumb, but it was enough of an opening for Vibrio. Zero stars, do not recommend.

@JoJosReef and @Stang67 both landed in the emergency department last year from palytoxin. They decided to chew on palys, though. Also not recommended.

spend a huge amount of money on the tank..no sump..no ato...just a small skimmer...works for me
I'm the same way. When it comes to my tank I try to be very cautious about spending.

Could you recommend some gloves that are safe for the fish as well? I’ve been hunting for reusable ones but can’t seem to find a pair that doesn’t have some sort of coating on them. One too many times I have put my hand in the tank with a cut on it that I totally forgot about, and I don’t want to keep rolling the dice.

I work at are family business we sell animal health products mainly for horses but I order the shoulder length gloves that vets use to go deep into the rear end. They work great especially if you have a deep tank they are over 30inchs long.

As soon as I read this a picture of Dr. Pol came to mind, and the mess that is.

I buy these by the case (1st Choice), but any nitrile will do. If possible, get them thick and textured.

Buy trending products for pride.
All my gear has a specific purpose. I don’t buy to feel pride in owning a product line. I buy for the utility of it.
