All the failures have made me enjoy my tank much less. Definitely my last RS tank. I really don’t get it, why not throw in a metal stand as a premium option...instead they double down with the ikea stand for the 900...

same here, I have a 350 and this is my first and definitely last reefer. When I got it I was shocked over the poor quality of the stand. The darn thing even started to swell after some splashes of water made it to the joints, “marine spec” my butt.

This Is true - I have a 525 as well as a 750. When I called about the 525 - I was told those parts were not covered

I just installed the retrofit support kit on my 750 XXL and noticed what appears to be a large bubble in the seam, directly above the support. I assume this is bad. I’ve already reached out to Red Sea... waiting to hear back.

Pretty apparent that lack of support is adding stress. Which is slowly resulting in what you are seeing. Will be interesting to hear what BS excuse Red Sea gives you.

Just remember. If they are so confident its not an issue... Ask them if they would be willing to pay for damages to your home if something does happen. Shouldn't be a problem right? ;)

To anyone that’s been following this thread from the beginning, I’ve been trying to catch up, but there is just too much, don’t have time. Are 525s (the last gen) impacted? Is Red Sea sending braces for just 750? I want to get my 525 braced if they are failing, can’t have it fail where it is!

also, there FB page really is a joke. Thanks in advance.

Only 750s seem to be affected.

According to their posts - any bubbling - especially like that IS a significant issue - and they requested being contacted immediately. I have seen other tanks with very small bubbles - that looks like a disaster waiting to happen. good luck with whatever solution they provide. with my tank - I would place my heater in the tank - keep up good flow lower any corals down as low as possible and use a canister filter instead of the sump.

PS - I was under the impression that the support was supposed fix the problem - not make it worse (was that bubble not there before the support - or did it get worse or did it appear after the support

To add to that, even if the support does fix the issue, there is still the fact that the tank sat with added pressure for months or years before adding the support and the life of the tank had decreased by some degree. Because of that, I am not planning on having this tank for 10+ years like I originally thought and will try to get it upgraded around the 5 year mark, (if it makes it that long). :(

I noticed it while I was up close to the tank, before I installed the support. And I never had any sag in the stand.

Red Sea responded... a new tank is on the way and should be here by the end of the week. Excellent customer service! Although this is unfortunate I am glad to see that Red Sea is standing behind their product. Maybe I'll get version 3 of the 750 XXL.

You can still get one. Just waterproof your house first.

I was thinking about getting their bigger 900. Now I'll just sit back and wait how things pan out over the next few months.
Ehhh! I got my basement finished with carpet so i cant give any chance risking to redo the basement again lol. And final decision was made to stay away Redsea tank = stay away the risk lol
Going with acrylic route and here my new stand custom arrived ;)

Now THAT is a stand. The Red Sea Max S Series comes with a sturdy aluminum frame stand. While I would duck in there for safety in an earthquake, I don't really care much for the rest of the Max S proprietary system.

Great to hear you have a replacement on the way. How long was your tank set up for before the bubble appeared?

This has been an extremely frightening read!

I don't have a Red Sea tank but I truly feel for those of you that do.

I "almost" purchased a RS Reefer 750XXL bit opted to get a SCA 180 gallon instead.

Good luck to all of you!
I can't imagine what it must be like to have that kind of worry in the back (or front) of your mind.
