Hey Guys,

New to reefing and my anxiety could really use your help!!! I have a jedi mind trick and all of a sudden a white patch the size of a pea appeared on it. Hoping you guys may be able to help me figure whats wrong. Tank is still young. Thanks in advance

Water:
7.9 ph
77.1 temp
420 orp
1.026
mg 1480 ish
KH 8.4
CA 390-400
Phosphate .79

Looks like tissue necrosis. Young tanks are hard - it might be nothing more than that. Phosphate at .79 is really not good, but in a new tank it might be OK.

Might also watch for montipora eating nudibranches, more likely to see them after lights out

Anything I can do or is this the end of the Jedi?

Id dip and check for montineating nudis. Hupefully it wont be those.

Sorry to sound inept, what’s the best way to do it?
There are about 700 ways to do an iodine dip . Lol. Everyone has their favorite method. I usually add enough lugols solution to a half gallon of tank water to make it look similar to iced tea. Put the coral in for about 15 minutes, then return it to the display tank. I'm sure others procedures will differ significantly ;)
