This coral has been doing good without any issues. I just recently reduced the flow in the last two days. Now I have noticed white spots starting to appear. Does this have to do something with the flow?

It is in the middle up on some rock. Should I lower where there is a little more flow?

The coral appears to be a bowerbanki. Do the white spots only appear at night? Could be a feeding response.
I stand corrected. Yes it's an Acan. I never seen this on it before. I have had it for a month. It almost looks like it might be the skeleton....I hope not though

Keep us posted. Typically less flow shouldn't cause an issue with tissue recession on that coral. I like to keep our acans in low to moderate indirect flow. Nice coral BTW

I'd pick it up and see if anything is eating the flesh. But looks more of a tissue pigment, and it does look like a bowerbankii

hard to tell what's going on, the coral is by itself with nothing to sting, or vice versa. Was it ever upside down I the sand..?

Lol I don't think it's you parameters ok..

I suspect a small unknown bug eating away...there are so many bugs out there hard to pin point what it could be but it must be removed manually.

No it is by itself. Should I try and move it to a different location?

We need a list of live stock in your tank.
Have you tried to dip the coral yet!

3 head frogspawn
This Acan

2 coral banded shrimp
2 green chromis

Looks to be a fairly new tank. How long has the coral been in the tank and how long did you have it before this started? Also do you have your water parameters and what lighting its under. I don't think lowering the flow would cause it, generally these guys do like low flow.
