i dont own a chiller so the summer time i get heat waves, some days hot, some days cooler w/ my tank fan on. There are great sales in summer, but I opt not to buy since alot of my sps have tend to brown or bleach out - needs to be hospitalized in friends tank w/ a chiller for the season.

I'm not ordering due to lack of cash. Have to replace part of my fence $400 in lumber, and I have to do some work on the house. Kind of takes all the coral money away.

I buy all year round for the most part....Except last winter we had 74 days below 32 degrees straight. I didn't buy anything then.

I usually do not buy "as much" coral in the summer months either.

I personally don't like summer. I would much rather ship in the winter. It is much easy to control in the cold. I have heat packs that will last different lengths of time up to 60 hours. I'll be lucky if a cold pack lasts longer than 14 hours. With a 20 hour trip from Honolulu to the east coast, most cold packs do not last.

I do ship in the summer, but if it is close or over 90 degrees it has to be held for pickup or i refuse to ship. Air Freight is nice for fish or large coral packs since i can get from Honolulu to the east coast (airport to airport) in about 13 hours. On large orders its usually cheaper too.

I ship year round with equal results. In extreme temps (cold or hot) the pack needs to be held at FedEx for pickup.
