Working with Acrylic

I wanted to buy an acrylic sump for my 125g tank, a rather large one, say 60g and can't find anyone in my area that works with acrylic, I have looked. So I have decided that if I want one I will have to build it myself. Does anyone have a link that could help me out on building this thing? I am not a big DIY guy so I need all the help I can get. I got a price from one company for a sump, it cost almost more that I paid for the tank,stand and lights. :squigglemouth:

where are you located??? i got qiuet a bit of acrylic threads on here with sump builds....
do a search with my name and check my threads if you need help im here.....i can post like 20 different designs and how to's if ya need....;)

Well, I did some calling around today trying to find some where to buy the acrylic, seems its a no go. Is there any online companies where I might be ble to buy the acrylic? I am wanting 3/8 inch acrylic, I went to Lowes and Home Depot, all they have is 1/4 inch.

Where are you located? Most bigger cities have plastics companies that usually carry it.
I'd also check the metal fab companies since a lot of them have it as well.

I found one listing in the phone book for plastic's, they are closed today so I will give them a try Monday. I also am in a regional forum and someone in the forum knows someone that has an acrylic shop, so I am hoping that lead may go some where.

I get mine from the glass place. If they dont have it they can get it and will cut it for you but if you get them to cut it go bigger cuz you will have to recut to make square or least my local place cant cut staight
