I got it three days ago it has two different sources of flow and the lighting was set for anemones because the kit I got was for anemones but I ended up getting other soft coralsThat looks like algae and your candy cane looks very unhappy. How long have you had it and what kind of lighting and flow is it getting?

I don’t know the exact par but the original lighting template was for anemonesLooks severly bleached...almost too far gone already.
What sort of PAR is it at - Candy Cane like low light - even in-direct light seems to be preferred.
My candy cane (it’s a neon green variety) is in medium flow in the middle of my tank. It had 3 heads 4 months ago and now has 8. The sand is appropriate for acclimating it but it needs good flow to keep algae off. Yours is totally retracted and so there must be an imbalance in your parameters in the tank plus possibly flow and lighting. Use a turkey batter to gently blow off the algae. And tell us about your parameters so we can see if we can help. Here’s what a healthy one should look like.I got it three days ago it has two different sources of flow and the lighting was set for anemones because the kit I got was for anemones but I ended up getting other soft coralsThat looks like algae and your candy cane looks very unhappy. Salinity is also about 36 but I also have a Kenya tree and a zoanthid in the tankDo I need to increase flowOkay thank you I’ll do that as soon as possibleMy candy cane (it’s a neon green variety) is in medium flow in the middle of my tank. Candy cane and zoa are soft corals and a lot more tolerant of new tank swings. It looks like you are in the very early stages of your tank. An LPS coral, which the Candy cane is, while still a hardier coral needs good calcium, alkalinity and magnesium to survive. Do you know what those parameters are? Salinity between 1.024-1.026 is ideal also for corals. You have a Powerhead which looks adequate so the question is not then flow but is your candy cane getting enough flow from placement. I agree with the other poster that it looks really bleached and on its last legs for a coral you’ve only had for 3 days. That doesn’t mean it’s totally a goner but I’d say if whatever is causing it to close like this isn’t addressed quickly you will lose it.Salinity is also about 36 but I also have a Kenya tree and a zoanthid in the tankDo I need to increase flowOkay thank you I’ll do that as soon as possibleMy candy cane (it’s a neon green variety) is in medium flow in the middle of my tank.
