Hey guys! I currently have a 40 breeder and was wondering if I could put a juvenile yellow tang in my tank for about 2 years before I upgrade to rather a 75 gallon or a 100 gallon. Provided there will be a lot of swimming space while also some crevasses for it to go in (talking about my 40 breeder). Thanks!

A biota one will work for awhile but not sure about 2 years. Aggression would be my worry. Why so long for an upgrade?

Love how people marginalize the health of pets for humor
I think they just mean it's not a good idea for the fish. There will be lots of people saying no to the thought.
Is say no, only a couple months and it will need a bigger home but why not wait until you have the home it needs op?

Its just the expense, tanks are pretty pricey especially larger ones.

Do you have a petco? They sell 75g at a good price during the sales and they have 60g now too.

$175 right now on Petco website for as 75g... I believe they go as cheap as $125 during the per gallon sales.

Yellow Tangs are expensive too tho... $150-$200 - can just put that money and get a nice upgrade sooner.

I think the useful info is eventually you’ll notice the fast growth rate and he will need all 4ft clear swimming space… year or so maybe?
