Yellow tang price increase

I wasn't going to get a yellow tang but my wife said that she would like to watch it as we sit in the living room. I bought it for $60 in late summer. I shake my head that it's now worth a substantial inflated price!

I remember not too long ago, these yellow tangs were selling for 20-30 dollars all day long. Dang...I am starting to sound like my parents!!! :oops:

Did prices go up at the wholesaler level or is it at the retailer level ??

My guy showed me his wholesale prices.... it definitely went up.

My lfs brought in hundreds a couple weeks ago and they are selling them between $150 to $350 depending on the size.

Saw a purple tang at petco for $80 two weeks later it’s $200

Hello fish friends,

I know there were a couple dozen posts regarding the Hawaii ban. This is another one.

I just came back from my LFS and discovered they listed two new yellow tangs.. at $400/each.

Apparently the owner said to keep a small stock available but at market price of $400. Why? Because fish people are impatient

I am lucky that I bought their last rescue tang 4 weeks ago at only $70. He was a rescue because no one wanted him with a blind eye.

Just curious what other price hikes have people seen lately. Please share! Thank you

Got an alert for a yellow eye kole tang in stock at LA. Was 109.00, missed out. Now 350.00

I know a few stores in la and oc where the kole tangs are around $80-$90

Some of the stores here just opened after a 2 month lockdown .

the one that’s open has 1 yellow tang and asking $299 cad
