My wife just saw it on Facebook and said the same thing. It's an absolute tragedy what this world has become.

Do I go with PVC or silicon flexible piping for a sump? How do unions, bulkheads etc work?

I would recommend flexible tubing. Just make sure you don't use metal hose clamps in your water. Since the only spot that will need a serious hose clamp is the return nozzle which I think should clamp outside the tank, no problem. I use a banding tool and heavy zip ties for hose clamps

I probably conked out about an hour after my last post. I read middle grade book that the kids left out until I got sleepy enough that I dropped it, then turned out the light and went to sleep. Up at about 7 because the family was getting ready for school. Went back to bed until about 1130. Drove my sister-in-law and some kids to a cider pressing get together to meet my wife and the restt of the kids. Sitting and resting at the moment because there are more people than tasks and I'm still tired and a little fuzzy feeling.

it takes a lot out of you. you really need to rest and not run around like that. the steroids are masking your weakness. in 2-3 days the steroids will wear off and anything you did in between will be felt.
