Thinking of the following for stocking my 125 g (6 ft.) FOWLR:

Longhorn Cowfish (Lactoria cornuta)
Cubicus Boxfish (Ostracion cubicus) or Male Spooted Boxfish (Ostracion meleagris)
Red Sea Racoon Butterflyfish (Chaetodon fasciatus) or Golden Semilarvatus Butterflyfish (Chaetodon semilarvatus)
Tinkeri Butterflyfish (Chaetodon tinkeri)
Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula)
Goldflake Angelfish (Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus)
Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurum)

Basically, 2 boxfish, 2 butterflyfish, 2 angels, and 1 tang.

How does this look? Under/overstocked? Is this the right order of introduction?

Ok, here is a revised stocking list. How does this look and how is the order of stocking?

1. Longhorn Cowfish (Lactoria cornuta) - already in QT
2. Golden Semilarvatus Butterflyfish (Chaetodon semilarvatus) - already in QT
3. Red Sea Regal Angelfish (Pygoplites diacanthus)
4. Tinkeri Butterflyfish (Chaetodon tinkeri)
5. Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula)
6. Blue Tang (Paracanthurus hepatus)

1 cowfish, 2 butterflyfish, 2 angels, and 1 tang.

I like your list. Only thing I'm iffy about is the Longhorn Cowfish. They apparently get vary large. Same with the Blue Tang. You have plans to upgrade in the future?

Stocking order is fine.

Yeah I know the cowfish can get big. That's why I didn't want to stock too many fish. I thought about a smaller tang such as purple or powder blue, but I think they may too aggressive for the cowfish and regal angel.

1. Longhorn Cowfish (Lactoria cornuta) - already in DT
2. Golden Semilarvatus Butterflyfish (Chaetodon semilarvatus) - already in DT
3. Yellow Belly Regal Angelfish (Pygoplites diacanthus) - in QT (and eating pellets!)
4. Moorish Idol (Zanclus cornutus)
5. Tinkeri Butterflyfish (Chaetodon tinkeri)
6. Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula)
7. Goldflake Angelfish (Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus)

Would two large angels and one dwarf work? I'm scratching tangs off the list due to size/aggression.

The angels will all work. They are all relatively peaceful and different enough.

My only concern would be the moorish idol with the tinkeri. Though a challenging species, moorish idols can be surprisingly aggressive to similar shaped fish.

Hmm. Ok. I may need to give that some thought.

Newest revision:

1. Longhorn Cowfish (Lactoria cornuta) - already in DT
2. Golden Semilarvatus Butterflyfish (Chaetodon semilarvatus) - already in DT
3. Yellow Belly Regal Angelfish (Pygoplites diacanthus) - already in DT
4. Moorish Idol (Zanclus cornutus) - in QT (eats pellets)
5. Borbonius Anthias (Odontanthias Borbonius) - ordered
6-7. Pair of Tinkeri Butterflyish (Chaetodon tinkeri) - in QT
8. Interruptus Angelfish (Centropyge interruptus)
9. Goldflake Angelfish (Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus)

Not sure if the order of adding the anthias or tinkeri pair matters, but the anthias will be small and the tinkeri pair are quite bold (but I don't think will be aggressive to other fish).

Also not sure if I would be able to pull off another semilarvatus to try to pair up the one already in the DT.

Update:

1. Longhorn Cowfish (Lactoria cornuta) - in DT
2-3. Pair of Semilarvatus Butterflyfish (Chaetodon semilarvatus) - in DT
4. Yellow Belly Regal Angelfish (Pygoplites diacanthus) - in DT
5. Moorish Idol (Zanclus cornutus) - in DT
6. Borbonius Anthias (Odontanthias Borbonius) - in DT
7-8. Pair of Tinkeri Butterflyish (Chaetodon tinkeri) - in DT
9. Interruptus Angelfish (Centropyge interruptus) - in DT
10. Goldflake Angelfish (Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus) - in QT
11. Bella Goby (Valenciennea bella) - in QT

Am I full? I would like to add a trio of anthias (1 male and 2 female) of either psuedanthias ventralis or white bar (pseudanthias leucozonus), depending on what is available.

Will try to snap a few photos of dt later.

Love the setup! Especially the butterflyfish. Your tank looks way bigger than a 125 gallon tank. Maybe cause the rockscape is so open?

Beautiful collection of fish.

When I see all those angels and butterflies, I wonder about going fish only.

How well is the idol eating? And was it difficult to get it accustomed to eating prepared food? I assume you're using frozen, I hear they're difficult, but I've never met somebody that's had one. Couple people with black and white banners that are similar in looks

Idol is a piggie. Eats everything - pellets, frozen, nori, live blackworms. I lucked out and he was eating pellets from day 1 in QT.
