160G mixed reef tank

A new male Anthia that's spending some time in observational QT along with 4 females. Will watch them for any parasites and make sure they are eating well and dewormed before adding to tank.

Little single rasta head that I got under 2 months ago starting to grow new heads.

I haven't been much of a zoa person, but these do look good and hoping it fills out some of the spots nicely.

FTS Friday... Featuring diatoms

1 male and 4 female anthias that spent some time in QT was added to the main tank. Fish look happy and found their place in the tank.. I do think I need about 3 more to get the full busy reef look I'm after.

So I think I found the problem why I keep having diatoms.

RO machine seems to the faulty, it jumps between readings of 0 and 45. Filters and membranes were changed recently however it seems something else is broken. Going to drop it off at our RO expert and see hat he can find.

So the filter roller motor got jammed and spun inside the mechanism which broke the pigtails, ordered some new motors and changed some of the parts to ease the tension, all seems to be well now... I hope

Got some new goodies today.

One cup popped open probably due to pressure change and leaked out most of the water, hoping that frag pulls through...

RO machine has been fixed. There was a faulty membrane which exhausted the di resin. All has been changed now I have zero tds.

A little help with some beneficial bacteria to get ahead of the diatom outbreak.

Some growth progression of the tangs, they are super healthy and eat like pigs. I feed heavy to maintain nutrients, but I might have to cut back and maybe add more fish to add to the bioload.

We have a local frozen food called "planktonyx dewormer" which is packed with dewormer meds and vitamins . I feed the fish for 10 days and watch the poop change.

Fish go crazy for it.

Cleaned glass and took shots. Corals are happy and fish are healthy.

Apart from the diatoms, I'm happy with the tank.

Night time T5 blues before lights out.. I am missing that led color pop, but will sort that out in time..
