Hey all! I figuered id share my progress on my new 180. My alumafab stand came in and i finally have the time to get this set up and going! Ill start posting equipment and setup configuration in the coming days.

I have had many sub 50 gal tank through out the past 7 years but never got a large tank until i got a home i actually own. Now's the time!

First step, got the aquascape together and i was wondering if anyone has any input on this scape or if anything needs to be changed before i get going with the sand and plumbing. I hope there is enough room to make some fish comfortable and the future coral room to grow.

How does it look to yall?

Thank you!

Looks good.
My suggestion is you add more rock to make more of a difference in height of the 3 all ready there . Maybe get the eye to see the middle tower first glance, then flow to the right tower. You can also do this with corals.

I plan on some sps, is this too much height ? I see what you guys mean it is pretty flat.

Sahh, a Hutt. Nice to see you here. Tank is coming along. Very nice. I very much like the aquascape. Should fill in nicely once you have some stuff growing up top. Just my 2 cents.

Tank update! A week into adding the big wet and its finally less cloudy...

The light set-up is ongoing currently. The aluminum was free, and I can't beat free so I used what I had to make a bar for the lights to hang off of.
-Kessils are off for a good long while, too much light to start. I need to finish wiring them together for the spectral controller I have.
-I got my first apex, and there is one heck of a learning curve for me. Does not make much sense but youtube is going to be my savior.

Also, Wall Hammer I picked up in my frag tank this past week.

That's awesome. Eventually I'm going to get a full tattoo of him on my thigh. Just gotta figure out the right image of him to use.
Light mount looks really good as well. Fortunately I have a canopy on my tank which makes mounting lights relatively easy. Otherwise I'd be hanging them from like 11' ceilings.

I'm also getting ready to set my apex back up. I had it on my 6 ft tank and haven't used it since I took it down. Going to need it now so I can program my t5 lighting to come on and off. I also like the redundancy of being able to use it to turn my heater controller on and off in case it fails.

following along. Don't worry on the Apex, you'll figure it out in time. I am an "old school" reefer from way back in the 1990's and when I got back into this hobby again all the control Apps, LED's and controllers made my head swim. I am now running an Apex, when I SWORE I never would, as I'd never learn all that "junk"...but here I am, and it's really pretty easy, and all very helpful on the tank. Good luck and I'll be following along on your build, as I currently have a 20g Nuvo a 75g reef, and sitting in my garage is my new 180g, just like yours waiting to be set up.
