It's been awhile since my last update, but a TON has happened since:
  • Got a TON of coral
  • Starting to dose BRS 2 part
  • QT fish died to parasite (details in video journal)
  • I have ich in the DT...
In regards to the Ich, I'm almost certain it was my half-dose when QT'ing my angels. I was scared I'd hurt them, and in doing so introduced ich to my main system. I'll be letting the tank go fallow once my QT is set back up and fish captured.

Update 6/4/2018

This is my first true step into Acropora. I've kept seriatapora/stylopora with great success so far, so I figured this was the next logical stel.

I got these pieces from the amazing guys at @AquaSD :

So frustrating update.... Tomorrow I'm going to be breaking down the hardscape. As many of you know, my tank caught ich because I only treated my my angels with half dose copper in fear of their sensitivity. I have pulled out 5 of 6 fish, but the Randalls Goby refuses to fall into any of my traps.

With that said, I'm left but to break down my rock scape so I can start a 76+ day fallow period. Here is my plan for today/tomorrow:

Purchases:
- 2 plastic totes (Hold coral)
- Extendable squeegee tool (Push sand)

Plan:

Stage 1: Break Down
0) Take CURRENT picture of setup
1) Pump water from tank into totes
2) Add heater to totes
3) Remove rock with coral and place into totes
4) Remove rock **without** coral and place on top of cardboard boxes
5) Capture/remove the stupid fish :(

Stage 2: Reconstruction
1) Use Squeegee tool to push sand to one side of tank
2) Replace base rock
3) Replace coral rock

Quick update on my QT tank and the fish inside them! They've gone through a full round of copper, and now it's finally time to let the tank go fallow for 30 days... Good excuse to buy more coral :)

Update 6/19/2018 - Montipora Eating Nudibranch + New QT

The past week+ change has been crazy. I discovered Monti Eating Nudi's and began a strict regime to clear them out. I also setup a new QT to begin treating new fish while the tank goes fallow for Ich.

Update 6/26/2018
In this video journal, I finally sit down and cover all of my LPS coral. I'm planning on going through 3 videos for LPS, SPS, and softies in my tank. Honestly, I really should have done this ages ago or as I went, but the coral bug was too strong and I ended up buying faster than I could make videos @_@

So my vermitid snail population is still an on going issue. Every few days I go in with my metal tongs (Used for FW aquascaping) and pinch all that I can see.

From my research, it appears that as Vermitid snails are filter feeders reducing nutrients in the water column is my best bet. I have halted coral feeding for now, I haven't been feeding because the tank is going fallow, and I'll try and install a DIY sock holder onto my Triton style sump.

If you have any suggestions on methods to beat Vermitid snails, please let me know.
