First offical build thread!! Decided to set this tank up while i figure things out with my bigger build, which i eill be starting a thread for here shortly. I had everythingnlaying around the house so this will be a low cost build. Teying to keep it to equipment i already have. The equipment is as follows:
-3.7 petco preffered cube
-Upgraded return pump to a maxi jet 400
-purigen and chemipure for filtration
-hydor 25w theo heater
-3.5 lbs bioactive reef rock
-4 lbs caribsea Bahamas oolite live sand
-fluval nano led light

As for the livestock i plan on doing mainly inverts and coral. Im thinkingnof trying a fish though as well. Im thinking maybe a clown goby hectors goby or rainford goby, not sure yet. All feedback welcomed!!

Im definitely doing a shrimp of some sort but if i decide to do a fish id one thatd be out more than a shrimp goby. But thanks!!
sexy shrimp and a yellow watchman Goby work well too. yellow is a great color in a reef and sticks out which makes it eye catching

Thank you!! Ice been looking into an atom i may try my hand at a diy one. Also i know i dont wanna keep that light. Im thinkingmmaybe the wavepoint micro sun

http://m.petco.com/product/125199/Wave-Point-Micro-Sun-LED-Clamp-Light.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch

Or the wavpoint blade

http://m.marinedepot.com/products/zp01407/wave-point-blade-ho-led-aquarium-light-super-blue-10k

Does anyone have any feedback or first hand use with either of these?
I have the wave point micro sun led clamp light 8 watt that I had on my jbj 3 gallon nano reef, really nice, from Amazon prime. It's now on my 8 gallon nano with a sunrise Aqua wave which is really nice also, 3 settings with a dimmer. But today I just bought a 30 gallon off Craig's list and will be starting over as it is not rimless. Where do you live? I could sell you mine. :)

Well i am sorta lol. How do you like the aqua wave? I was just on their site and i think i like the nano one alot more than both options i had above lol. My only concern is how white is it? I prefer the subdued bluish purple hue. Thats why i dont want the fluval light on there anymore.

As I said it has three settings, the first one does include blue and purple lighting, the second is purple and red and the third is all blue. And you can dim it as well, must admit I like it better than the wave point because with that all you get is blue and white and there is no on or off switch, you have to unplug it.

And it actually has 2 red lights. The only reason I don't need it is I just bought a 30 gallon tank.
