Looks pretty good. Coral do okay after treatment?

Ya they were starting to color back up I lowered the intensity of the light because they were so stressed, seems to being doing the trick. The echinata coral frags you gave me never faded and are growing pretty good. I have my fingers crossed that everything is going good, I'm workin outta town again this week.

Well I returned home from a three week work today to find my fish tank in disarray. Most of the coral have varying damage, my encrusting montiporas were the worst hit with almost all frags white and algae covered. My old skimmer finally gave out and I'm assuming my water is completely out of wack. I'll begin testing and a 20% water change. I have used my brs points to order a Reef Octo 110 classic and paid extra for 2 day shipping. Also my refugium has tons of cyano and some kind of bacteria bloom thing going on. The chaeto is brown and the cualpera is covered in red slime. Here are some pictures of the damage.

Thank you, the tank had a little set back but it'll recover and be back to the way it was.

Oh no. Is there anything I can do to help?
I may have lost that fuzzy acro frag you gave me, so i may have to get a replacement in the future haha but with a little tender caring I'm hoping to save the rest. I'm probably going to clean out and sterilize that refugium and put the worst frags in there so I can keep an eye on them.

Well I've seemed to get things slowly back under control. I did a 10% WC everyday since I got home. The new skimmer should be here tomorrow. I unfortunately have a cyano, bubble and some sort of brown fuzz algae breakout. I'm also trying to reign in the alk after it dropped all the way to 6! The water changes are helping. The damage has been done and I need to get in and frag the half dead stuff.

Niiiice! Should help a lot. I had issues with a dodgy skimmer for a couple of months that cause all sorts of headaches, put on new on a couple of weeks ago and it's so much better.
Ya the previous skimmer was acting up and of course it died while I was gone for 3 weeks. I had back ups for every other piece of equipment just not an extra skimmer.

This is honestly the first piece of equipment that I haven't bought second hand, so I was like a little kid opening up Christmas presents haha. The skimmer is already starting to pull junk from the water, it's amazing how much detritus builds up when you don't have a skimmer for 3 weeks.

Well the skimmer is performing awesome. Really getting some nice dark tea colored junk in the skimmer cup. The corals have stopped losing flesh and hopefully they will start to regain their color. Most of the acros have gotten very dark almost brown, some of the fluorescence is slowly coming back. Hopefully things will continue trending upward.

Well I'm writing this post with much frustration and sadness. It has been a hard summer for my tank and for the first time since getting into this hobby I'm considering shutting down my tank. My work schedule has changed drastically over the last few months and it has me away from home for weeks at a time, in the last 5 weeks I have been home for roughly 15 hours. My wife has tried very hard to keep the tank stable while I was away but in a two day span all of the sps in the tank have perished. I wasn't home and I haven't been able to even start to deal with the fallout. I now have a red slime out break and lots of dead sticks and colonies. On a good note the anemone and the fish are all fine. I'm going to try to get the water quality back to where it needs to be and just keep the fish until work returns to normal. It's always been a dream to have a vibrant sps tank and for a little while it was becoming a reality, one day I'll get that dream tank.

I am sorry that your tank has been thru a rough patch. I think we all go through that from time to time. You can get it back to what it was, just hang in there.
