Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has ever made a 3D printed wavebox and if so how it worked out? In theory I think it should be totally feasible but I haven't ever used a wavebox nor dabbled in 3D printing at all so that's why I figured I'd ask around first.

For whatever reason the few waveboxes on the market are very expensive so I thought it would be neat to mess around with a 3D printed alternative that I could just add a pump to. And like I mentioned, not really well versed in the world of 3d printing so let me know what you think of this idea!

Thanks all

I have tried to design and build one for someone, but the noise created by it was unbearable.
The cause (I think) was the tube going to the surface, the air in the tube causes the tube to become a resonance chamber. I submerged the tube as a test and the noise was gone then.

I made such a WaveBox printed with a 3D printer, for a Jebao MOW-9 flow pump with a controller.

Dimensions 87x110x220mm Grooves are made for the MOW-9 pump, so that it fits perfectly into the case with a magnet. The second part of the magnet holds the Wavebox from the other side of the glass.

I'm still experimenting with pump modes, but for my aquarium it seems that the Jebao controller does not have enough pulsation mode range.

So it has been a bit since you posted this. Have you had thoughts about if you found it working? I remember this older style with some of the German Brand wavemakers.
