i moved my brains and chalice to a 4 bulb tek fixture and run the lights 2 blue+ on at 9. 1 blue+ and 1 purple+ come on at 10. at 8:00 the p+ and b+ turn off and then the other two blue+ turnoff at 10. my question is would you run this mixture or do you hink it's to much light for too long. i'm wondering if i should cut the last two bulbs down to maybe 6-8 hours. if it was yours what would you run? thanks in advance.

your right, sorry. my wife was rushing me out of here when i was asking this important question.the tank is a cube 24"x24". the light is 20" above the corals which are on a bare bottom tank with no rocks. the water is about 16" deep. the light is 4x 24 watts. the tank is plumbed into my 120(not that it maters much). thanks again.

i went ahead and cut back the hours to six and ten hour shifts. they've only been in that tank a week so it shouldn't matter much. thanks for the reply.

my tanks a 2x2x20" tall, running a teklight with the teklight brand legs at the shortest settings- only place I can put Acans, chalices, and other lower light LPS in the tank is on the sandbed. Some can tolerate the full light, but a few get stuck under overhangs even at the bottom of the tank. When I started vodka dosing, had to push more things into the shade as the water clarified even more and a lot were having trouble with too much light. I was running 10 hours actinics, with 8 hours full lighting. Recently I've switched to 12 hours of actinics (2 bulbs actinic + geismann) with only 4 hours of the other 2 bulbs kicking in (aquablue and pure actinic, both geisemann as well.)

hope that's some help!
