Would 6 Maxspect light pucks be considered overkill? Obviously I’d have to tone down the intensity but I have a Maxspect RazorX R5-150 and an older Maxspect R420r 16k 160watt. The RazorX did a wonderful job on my SPS but I’m wondering if it would work out better since pucks are known to cause shadowing.

should be fine, just lower intensity, I think the fixture may be longer than the tank though, if so that would look really weird

Each fixture is 27” long, tank is 36”. But it is only 18” deep. I may be able to stagger them front to back due to the R420r having taller legs than the RazorX.

Use them both and lower intensity
