So, the amount of detritus that accumulates in this tank is really starting to bother me, I also have an issue with the sandbed at the moment (it's Ugly as) I know i need more CuC but sourcing them online in any sort of quality is rather difficult at the moment. Water testing and changes are going well, not had any salinity or temperature issues

This is leading me towards setting up another tank, bear with me and let me explain.
I am currently thinking of setting up the 5G Cube again, transfer across the Sandbed from this one (and some of the rocks), swap the Hydor Pico Evo in this tank with my spare Jebao SW2 Powerhead. This is hope will give me more and wider flow around the tank and hopefully reduce the amount of dead spots I have currently with the existing rocks and powerhead set up. I will then use the floating reef as my SPS tank and can attempt to grow out the two Pavona Plugs on the bottom of the tank. It seems my SPS are basing out a lot and quickly, but it appears a lot thinner than the rest of the frag which leads me to assume that I do not have enough flow in here.

I was additionally looking into possibly performing a micro bubble scrub but need some more reading

I could then use the Cube for a Softy/LPS reef with the Catalaphyllia taking the centre stage, probably throw in some cheap but colourful corals like Zoas and Mushrooms (I do love a Disco Shroom and Yuma's) and possibly a small YCG (Yellow Clown Goby)

Tank transfer complete, so the Pavona's and Catalaphyllia have made it, as well as all the CuC

Nice tank! Are the parameters hard to maintain stable enough for euphyllia in that small of a tank?

Well sadly I only have the Elegance (Catalaphyllia) left from the Euphyllias. I had some Brown Jelly Disease which sadly took out pretty much everything except the two Pavona's and the Elegance. Prior to that saw some really good extension and growth. New heads forming on the branching hammers and could see new mouths on the wall hammers. SPS did well too up until that point. Also breaking the tank didnt help much.

I might try torches this time around, or maybe something different who knows

I do 1 waterchange per week, near enough to 100%. Only thing that i test is Salinity and Temperature of new water to old.

It's really annoying and something that I cannot fully understand what happened so really gutting. Literally dropped a hammer into the sand, basted it off and let it rest. Next morning boom, brown snot everywhere, then worked from coral to coral. The Pavona and Elegance were on the sandbed and not the rock shelf like everything else that I lost.

I still have the skeletons dotted around in shaded spots in the off chance that some small polyp survived and can regrow. Not counting on it though.

wow, I know the feeling. I’ve been battling dying SPS for a while. I still don’t know why it’s happening and I’ve tried everything I can imagine

Received a Reef Care package from a user on another Forum. Spent 4 days in a Royal Mail van or sorting office (more like lost in office) really surprised that things look to be okay! Sent via damp post

Picked up some Caulerpa for some micro Cuc (Stomatella, Micro Brittle, Bristleworms, Asterina Stars etc) still sorting out the hitch hikers from this, good thing i didnt dump in the tank. Loads of Pods and sponges in here too

Seems my Hermit hates Caulerpa, watched it pull all of it out and float around the tank, dick
