Did the aquascape with Stax rocks. I think it looks good, lots of overhangs and depth. Will hopefully look like one rock once covered in Coralline instead of individual piece. Will be using Reefflakes as the substrate.

Very nice start! You made great use of the Stax, working with the straight edges which often look too straight.

Very nice start!

Thanks! Took me almost 5 hours to come up with the scape I wanted. One thing I will mention about the Stax rocks is they are not all the same thickness. This made aquascaping somewhat difficult. I had hoped they would all be cut at 1" thickness but this isn't the case. They all range from 7/8" to 1 1/4" thick so each layer of rock had to be selected based on thickness. My boxs had quite a bit of rubble in them, I will most likely use them to mount new frags instead of using plugs.

Finally got it plumbed. Waiting on some vidarock cermaic rocks to arrive before I fill with water. Also decided to go with a octopus Varios 6 as the return since it will be feeding a chiller and also a biopellet reactor.

So the ambient temperature in my apartment is 87 via Apex. Our complex does not have ac units so I am planning on running a chiller. Realistically, if I added some small fans what kind of temp drop could I expect? Possibly 1 fan on the sump and maybe a 2 fan unit blowing across the surface of the display.

Following because cube and stax [emoji16]

You're gunna be sad because I didn't end up using the Stax. Thanks for following though!

You should drop 3-4 degrees with a fan blowing.
The temp in the apartment swung from 79-89 in 24 hours. Once the water was added and I started monitoring it, I realize it's not as big a deal as I thought. Current swing is 80- 83. That is very manageable with fans and a chiller for backup
