Hey everyone. Glad to be on here and to show off some of my handywork!
I got this 2'x2'x2' Marineland 60gal Reef Ready Cube and haven't been able to do anything with it due to financial/housing hardships. This has allowed me to think about/look at others/design the exact stand and hood that I want for it. But I will wait no longer!

Ill put up equipment as people ask.
Here we go! I welded 1.25" tube steel together to make a taller stand than most would probably do. It's 37" tall (I know, it's a 24" tall tank but hey, I don't like stooping down to look at my tanks!). Tons of sheer bracing went in because I don't build ANYTHING that i couldn't park a car on ;) Then I got it powder coated. I skinned the tank in 3/8" maple veneer. Each panel has 2 coats of KillZ Primer and 2 coats of appliance enamel as well. The panels each can come off individually and are held on with magnets. I used to have french cleats on them, but they were giving me a huge headache, so I'm going to try and do away with them for now. Now I'm waiting on the trim pieces to glue onto the panels then I'm pretty much ready to put the tank on it! I wanted to show this off to you folks because I knew you all would fully appreciate the things that I've incorporated into the design of the stand, while my family (non-hobbyists) think it looks nice, but don't totally get how stoked I am for all of this to finally come together!!!!!
Ask any questions you like, Ill accept criticism, but please recognize that this stand is essentially done and I cant really change anything major. Enjoy my first stand build! Oh! I forgot to mention that I wrapped the panels in tongue and groove cedar because I really like the look of it. Ill post more pictures and maybe even a video of the panels coming on/off when the trim is done getting glued on.

Looks amazimg, and youre putting alot of time into it making it one of a kind. Following along. Ive been very interested in a 60c rr...or a 75 for my next tank. You may make it easier for me

The only problem I ran into was that there were only 2 holes drilled in the overflow and I wanted an emergency drain. So I will be running the return plumbing behind the tank and centered with loc-line. I havent drilled a tank before and I didnt want to start on this one haha. Thanks for the praise! Any questions or comments are encouraged!

Id like to see what kind of sump you go with. I saw on one 60c on here they used the ruby cube sump, nice looking. But it apears you got some extra room in that stand

It probably wont be a terribly popular decision, but i've decided to go with a 20gal long with the trditional skimmer -> refug. ->return I wanted to do that so my carbon, GFO, ATO, dosers and according reservoirs were all under the stand. I opted for the smaller tank so it wasn't completely crammed in there. I wanted it to look nice and be a functional space. I ordered my gate valves and check valve, so the plumbing is currently waiting on those to come in. Then it'll be water time!
