Well, its finally time to do a rebuild. No major problem with the tank just a few things I rushed into and some things I did with out research. Little back ground, I have had aquariums for about 6 years. All that experience was with freshwater. I currently have 6 tanks running, 1 reef and 5 freshwater tanks. The reef tank has been running for almost 2 years. It's an aqueon 75 with a 29 gallon sump. First rushed thing I regret was not drilling the tank, but it will be drilled on saturday for a synergy reef over flow. The next thing I'm not a fan of is the coralife skimmer. That will be swapped with a reef octopus 200int.
My lights are Mars aqua 165watt. I like them a lot, they grow anything I put in there. The tank is mostly sps, but there are also lps, zoas and a rock flower anenome.
The new equipment I have for this are
The overflow
Skimmer
New puck fuge light
Heater controller
DJ switch panel
And I am upgrading sump to a 55. The plan is to have the 75 with the 55 sump and have a 40 breeder next to it on the same water for frags and anenomes.

And now with this wonderful hotel wifi I must wait for all these pictures to load in.
I think the thing I'm most excited about is drilling the tank. Itll be great to not be paranoid about the eshopps hang on loosing syphine. The next best thing is being able to organize the wiring better. The door to the right of the tank is sealed so I will be building a shelf in the threshold and that will have all the fancy controllers and the DJ switch panel. And eventually will hold the doser.
Also the 2 purple rocks top center I am removing, so I can have more room for coral growth and swimming.

Then after I'm done with this I can begin my new freshwater display build.

Please excuse the very dirty glass. I've been away from home for almost 2 weeks. I dont have the wife clean the glass in fear of the overflow.

Looking real good! Quite an ambitious upgrade on a running tank!

Well, it started with just wanting to drain a little and drill it. Then I almost set up a 125 that's in my garage empty but I decided I wanted 2 tanks so I can have some anenomes and other coral that I wouldn't trust around the sps.

Quick update. Forgot to post last night. It's up and running, I moved the lights over a couple inches to re center after moving the tank to the right a couple inches. Loving the DJ switch panel.
My egg crate comes in the mail tomorrow so I can get the level right on the skimmer, then I need to paint it and make the front panel.
