I know some people say they eat coral but I keep peppermint shrimp in 2 tanks too small for a fish that eats aiptasia. CBBs in the other. Mine was would take care of that aiptasia over night. I experienced aiptasia spreading when I tried to eradicate them with kalk paste and other similar methods. With the peppermints the only aiptasia i have are in the overflow and sump. I've not had the peppermints bother coral but mine come out and eat when I feed the fish so maybe that keeps them from being hungry enough to go after coral.

PS not to be a debbie downer but I've had acro frags that didn't do squat for almost a year before starting to color up and grow.
That's the kind of horror stories that have steered me away from trying but I have babies popping up randomly from doing nothing at the minute ! Had peppermints before but got a flame hawk returning in 4 weeks once my fallow is up. Have got a copperband coming at a similar time tho so hopefully he does some magic . That's actually reassuring to know that it's not just this spot that is cursed ! I buy all my acros aquacultured from fellow hobbiests locally. This is the first one that hasn't shown any colour whatsoever so just made me assume something was badly off

I've never dared try that or aptasia x after reading horror stories of how they have spread. I used to just ignore them and they never spread but I've been fallow for 2 months and ghost feeding the tank seems to have increased numbers massively! You've had decent results with f aiptasia ?
Yup, better than Aptasia X as it turns hard as a rock.
I have no trouble covering the nem itself and encircle the outside where babies lurk.

Then in a week, I just break off the whole thing with my fingers and pull it out.

I agree with Dburr. F-Aiptasia has worked well for me in the past but only when the anenome is on top of the rock. If you try it on them when they are on the side, the stuff just drops down past them and gets on whatever is below them. From the pic it looks like the rock the frag in question is on may have a bunch of vermetid snails on it? Maybe they are bothering the frag.

My rock work is 50 percent rock and 50 percent vermetid snails lol . You can see the acro in the back has encrusted over a load of them.
