Acrylic slab blocking light?

Im not sure why, but there is a thick piece of acrylic slab in the middle of the tank. I’m worried it’s blocking the light. I have a few corals underneath the slab. Will this slab slow coral health? Should I get it removed?

It's going to reduce some light. If that's glued in as part of the aquarium frame, I wouldn't remove it. It's probably part of the frame support system.
