Algae ID

Hey guys was wondering if anyone can tell me what this algae is please. It's basically covering the rocks like a carpet with little to no growth out. My sailfin tang seems to like it and picks at it all the time, perhaps that's why there is no growth outwards from the rocks. Furthermore I do not see any issues with it vs corals at least on SPS side. All SPS have a clear white edge around their encrusting base so coral is able to kill that algae off along with stuff like coraline.

I have this algae on 1 of my frags and it constircts the coral..i hate it! But if your tang keeps it under control it may no be an issue

I guess it can possibly restrict something like zoas but mainly by just blocking the path it doesn't seem to be stinging or anything like that though. Stuff like monties and SPS just kill it when they expand their encrusting base.
