The only fish left in the 90 is the mandarin (for reasons already stated). I put the pistol shrimp and 2 yellow watchman gobies in a separate 10 gallon for now. I'm tempted to re-home the shrimp and see if the gobies do anything but hide in the new tank... Any advice on this?

I played around with the rocks a bit and made a couple of structures... really pleased with the first one and the fish seem to like it too. (Mount cyphastrea is in front of it, but not connected).

The second needs a little tweeking but has a nice passthrough

I second that. I’m also thinking about getting a yellow watchman goby/pistol shrimp combo. If I get them then I won’t be able to have my coris wrasse so we’ll see.

The Allons-y have it.

Keep it all.
The pistol shrimp will NOT be going into this tank! Either it goes into a Biocube with the gobies or it gets rehomed. My question is, given that they have spent the last year or more in a cave with the shrimp, will the gobies possibly be ok (safe, "happy") in the large tank without a shrimp?

I honestly don't know. Everyone is getting a new home so I can't see how there would be a less disruptive time to separate them.

I am sure there is a more elegant way to put that.

Ok, they're in :)
I'll let you know if I see them again after tonight, lol.

The tank is custom from Planet Aquarium, 60" x 30", and 18" tall. Calculated volume 140 gallons. It has 2 top braces and plastic trim top and bottom. (This is by design since I've gotten used to having a place to set things in top of the tank when I'm working on it.) It has 1/2" low iron glass on three sides, regular glass on the back. Internal overflow on the left back (also by design since 30" each direction to reach a center overflow is a bit much for me!), Herbie style drain and 1 return.

The stand is also custom made with 3 doors on the front - a large opening between 2 doors (no vertical brace) and a third door to the right of the other two, and a door on each end. The stand is 34" high, so the tank and stand sit right at 52". This is so much better than the 32" stand and 24" tall Oceanic that I currently have -- no more wet armpits when I'm sticking my hands in the tank!!

Sump is a used Eshopps R-300 (current Eshopps model for this style is the AR-300). I have the R-200 on my 90 gallon and like the design, so when I found someone selling an R-300 locally, I snapped it up :)

Skimmer is a Reef Octo 150

Return pump currently is a Sicce Syncra Silent 5.0, but I'm planning to change over to the Syncra SDC 9.0 I picked up during Black Friday; I was missing some plumbing parts and decided to just use the 5.0 to get the tank running. I'll be using tubing off the pump but then connecting that to PVC up to the bulkhead.

Heaters will be Eheim Jagers in an Inkbird controller.

I will be breaking down my 90 gallon Oceanic (48x18 and 24" tall) after I move everything into the new tank, so I'll use the Tunze ATO and Jebao powerheads from that at first, and supplement as needed. (I do have a new spare Tunze ATO and a used Jebao Gyre).

Recent pics of the 90: (so, yes @Miami Reef , just a few LPS!)

In addition to the fish and coral in my 90 gallon, I have some coral and fish in another tank - my old 58 gallon freshwater tank with hob filter. I bought the coral from someone's tank breakdown a couple years ago and then last year got fish and coral from someone else getting out of the hobby.

I honestly won't have much room for many additions once I combine everything, especially with the size of some of the coral colonies I have :)

Boulder of cyphastrea:

More to come...
Your cypastrea is gorgeous. Boulder is definitely the correct descriptive.

Thank you! At some point I'm going to need to figure out how to "frag" it -- maybe just cut it in half -- because it's starting to grow in the bottom of the rock!

I actually have some other small pieces I am going to try attaching to the overflow and/or back glass to see if I can get it to grow there...
