Silent, are you talking about a probe that looks like a pH probe? If so I have never tried to dissassemble one of the DA temp probes. I did use a old BRS pH probe to make a temp probe. That info is at post 120 in this thread.

I thought someone here took apart the DA temp probe. The black one. Maybe it was your post, I don't remember exactly. Anyway, I took mine apart and ran the above mentioned thermometer probe through it. Was just wondering what people used to seal it up at the top and bottom? Something like a silicone or maybe even extra thick super glue?

Great info! I so much appreciate all of the information pooling. I know Apex is current and probably better in multiple ways, but my RKE does all I need for now and has for multiple years. THANK YOU!!!

Took it apart very carefully by cutting the cord at the top and drilled out the hole and took the thermistor out of the bottom and drilled it out then wiggled and twisted till the probe came apart. Put the new one in from the bottom and wired it to the old connector. Works good, looks good.

Has anyone thought about making these temp probes and selling as aftermarket? I would definitely be a buyer if they were proven reliable and durable. I think you could easily get $35-$40 bucks for them if it mades sense financially.

Not all the DA temp probes are lke this. Some are just the wire with a rubber tip with the thermistor inside. They do not look like a probe at all. That is a good way of doing it if you have that type of probe. Thanks for the photos.

Does the SL1 pH probe connector ever go bad?
I got it out of storage and bought a new pH probe and it seems to not be working. I tried to calibrate it and after I cal the 10ph it reads whatever I entered for the 7ph. It doesnt drift, if I unplug it the reefkeeper still reads the same thing.

If the probe is new leave it in the tank a few days before calibration. Make a note of the raw data numbers when you do calibrate it again. I usually leave it in each solution several minutes before proceeding. That gives the prove time to adjust to the cal solution.

So you think its the probe not the SL1? Ive never heard of putting a new probe in the tank a few days before calibrating it.

Still reads 7.03 not moving. I think the probe connection on th SL1 is shot. Sucks cause the switches still work. I am using them for redundancy in ato.

It probably will not change until the next calibration. Try going to the calibration screen so you can see the raw data. Unplug the probe and see if there is a change on raw data. If there is then it may be a probe. Do you have another pH port you can connect the probe to to see if it changes there?

Sure is the brand new double junction brs probe that is no good. Brought out a rk probe that has been dry for 3 years and calibrated it and the old probe and sl1 works. Looks like I need a new probe.
I bought the brs probe on r2r so dont think brs will exchange it even though its new.

They can get damaged during shipping. There are glass parts in the probe. It you bought it from BRS I would give them a call. If it was an individual then you are probably right.

It is an iTemp then. Those can be used with the RKL or Archon. Otherwise the connector would have to be replaced to use it with an SL module temp input. I am sure you can find someone that wants it.

I got these pumps to try on my DP1's I have 3 in use 1 for ATO and 2 for AWC. I got the ones with the larger tubing. These have a higher flow rate than the original pumps but that is fine for my use. I have them set at 60ml per minute. The mounting tabs are flat so I will be able to use them after drilling holes in the DP1 cover for screws.
