Alveopora never opened dying

I bought this piece from the lfs Saturday because it looked great and healthy. Pic in store attached. Acclimated and dipped it and placed in a spot with low light and low flow. It has yet to open and appears to be dying because the polyps around the outer lower edge are gone and the skeletal structure is breaking down, saw tooth like on the edges of each pocket that the poloys are in. Parameters are all in check. Tank is cad lights artisan 70 with ap700 light peaking at 45% power placed 14" above water. Any ideas?

Take it out of the shade give it more light. Do u feed it?

I moved it into the light and fed lastnight however if it's not opening I don't think it's eating

I'd give it some more flow and see how that does, also make sure you don't have any suspect coral near it that is preventing it from opening. I doubt it has anything to do with feeding considering you just got it recently and it looked completely fine at the LFS.

Give it sometime it will be okay.

its not near anything and hasn't touched anything. I moved it to the front of the tank on sand bed with more light and flow. I'll give it more time

Is this normal that the skeletal structure has tiny holes in it almost webbing like and saw tooth along the outer edges. I attached some pics

I had one that got stung once and was a goner. Your calcium is High for my taste. 400-420 is where i would go. I have heard that goniopora and alveopora are hard to keep regardless. They do need to be fed

I agree with Jeff, Alveopora are very difficult to keep. I hope more light helps.
