I have a fluval flex 32.5 and 2 ai prime 16hds. I have the mounting arm for them and it is fairly long and I can adjust the angle of the light. I am wanting a mixed tank if possible with acros up top and softies at the bottom. I was wondering if I should put the lights at the very front of the tank and angle them in towards the back wall of the tank, the thought being if the corals grow towards the light they will be growing towards the front of the tank and thus look nicer. Can I do this or should I just put them in the middle and level. This is my first tank so I have no experience with lighting corals.

We do normally keeps our lights middle and centered to achieve equal lighting throughout the tank, I don't know how angled lights would affect the par level, you might need to rent a par meter to answer your question. If the lights are angled, then how to have corals on the sand? I don't think it makes sense.

If it’s slight angle I don’t see any issue.

I have a nano in my office and do this, mount light a few inches closer to the front instead of middle. And angle slightly towards back

My reason was to reduce blue lighting on me during zoom meetings. No issues as the angle isn’t to extreme and the sand still gets lit well
