Does the smart Ato still work with the black sheeting that's on the back of the tank

Absolutely, it doesn't affect the ato at all. The water level sensor actually sits in the water inside of the return section, the piece outside of the tank is just a magnet to hold it in place.

You're welcome. I highly recommend the Autoaqua, but it's the only one I've ever used. It was also only $90 when I bought mine, I know the price went up. But it's a very reliable, compact, easy to use all in one kit. (No they don't pay me to advertise for them) haha

Clowns have joined the others and are doing very well.

I definitely have a problem with nutrients. Sponges have been popping up on my back wall, and I just found this in the skimmer today.

Glass is dusty from diatoms every evening.

Hair algae is trying to get a foothold in the sand bed.

Oxygen bubbles on the black back, under the returns.

I have some macro algae on the way from my new friend @cale0721. Hopefully that helps going forward.

I do biweekly, 5gallon water changes, may have to bump that up. I get water from the lfs though, and I suspect they're giving me RO telling me it's RODI. Probably haven't changed the membranes in some time, I don't usually see an improvement after a water change.

I don't have a water softener so my own Rodi is out of the question right now.

Nitrates just tested at zero, so it's likely a phosphate problem (don't have a test).

Last time I checked reef foundation levels I got:
Cal: 470
Alk: 8.4
Mag: 1440

Curious as to why cal and mag were high, I tested fresh saltwater and got:

Cal: 440
ALK: 10.9
Mag: 1380

Not sure why they're so high. Especially alk, from what I've read tropic Marin pro reef usually mixes with low alk.

My TMP has been off also. Recently saw another thread where the guy was getting 1700+ mag. I tested my fresh salt the other day and got 1410 mag. My alk has been sitting at 7 consistently, though. I'm considering switching to brightwell. Still up in the air. Can you look under your bucket lid and tell me the number, just for reference?

The sponges are a good thing,good filter feeders,show your tank is maturing.

The tank I have the dragons breath in is a fish only tank with a ton of nutrients lol

Phosphate .18 and nitrate 15-20 [emoji51]

I tried keeping it in my reef but I carbon dose so my phosphate and nitrate are zero. I dose coral colors and reef energy just to keep up with my SPS every day lol

I think for it to keep its red color with orange tips it need good lighting and a nitrate level around at least 2. Just my experience though.

BTW TMPR is imported and most likely didn't settle while during it's trip to the US. Best to remove the bag from the bucket and try to mix the salt up best that you can. Tests show that the elements can settle in different areas due to vibrations and other shifts during shipping. TMPR is a great salt, just i'm not apathetic to mistakes for the price we pay.

Hopefully I have what it needs. I'll see what I can do about getting some nitrates in there.
