I have a 4 tank system all plumbed together. I am noticing a little algae starting to grow in the frag tank of the system. I can isolate the plumbing and add 4ml of peroxide to the tank (40 gallon) and let it run in the tank for a couple hours and then open the valve and just release the water into the other tanks? would this help or do I need a longer "soak" time?

if it’s easy to access I would apply directly to the algae. This works much faster.

Pretty straight forward question. Just wondering if anyone uses hydrogen peroxide as part of their daily maintenance on reef tank. I just started last week dosing 1ml per 10 gallons and have noticed my tank stays a bit cleaner between my last weekly water change. Does anyone have experience, or knowledge of any pros/cons of continuing this daily?
I dose 5ml daily in my 75 gallon reef tank! Looks Amazing

100+ frags on a bare bottom 40 breeder? Faster to dip in 50-50 for 2 minutes?

Sorry, I meant faster results in killing algae. Apply to the algae while still in the tank using a pipette, rather than dosing the entire tank. You end up dosing the tank, but you are having the full strength of the h202 touch the algae, killing it immediately.

After a week dosing 2.5ml every night, glass has stayed cleaner than normal. Sand a bit cleaner as well. Never had a huge algea or cyano outbreak, but had some green cyano covering rocks and sand bed some. That has not grown back since blowing off live rock last week. Will be siphoning most of the sand and adding a new bag in the next few days! Will continue dosing in the meantime!

2-3 ml daily for how many gallons?
This is for generally 40 gallons. I am using as a safety and preventative in my 660g. Once a week I added 15 m/l

Any adverse effect dosing at 1 ml per 10 gallon on pistol and cleaner shrimp? How about nems?

How would chaetomorpha and other macroalgaes be affected by this? Also, wouldn’t peroxide oxidate other organic compounds found in coral slime, zooxanthellae, and coral tissue itself?
