I've had issues for the last few months on my young tank with nitrates. They've never been over 50ppm, and never been below 10.
I've started dosing with reef bio fuel to try to bring them down. I have a marine pure block in the sump which I've been told will take several months to become fully effective, well over 100 lbs live rock, and reeflakes sand bed. When I get home tomorrow night I'll test the nitrates again to see if it's helping. Tank is 240 plus 50 gallon sump, running uv and protein skimmer. I added a Jebao pp15 for current to help suspend detritus in the column to be captured by the socks, which seems to be working, since I'm changing every few days.
All fish are happy, healthy and eating like crazy.
Any tips?
