I have this amazing Aptaisa garden growing in my failed refugium but have a really large carpet anemone enjoying his home. Here is my question, can I use Aptaisa X to rid the garden? My other concern is hurting the carpet which I don't want to do. Should I just allow the aptaisa to continue to grow?

Aiptasia-X is easy to use, just turn off any flow in the fuge and go to town, just avoid squirting any on the carpet. I have used it in my mixed reef several times. Also, peppermint shrimp can help.

I'd try the Berghia nudis as well. But I have a question/concern for you. Are you filtering the water between your refugium and the return to the DT?

My concern is this, aiptasia spread and they spread very easily. I'd be very concerned that they will find their way into your DT. Especially if you start to try and remove them. They can break up and even just a few cells can move to a new spot and develope into a completely new aiptasia.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I tried the berghia nudis before and didn't have any success with them before, so I am hesitant about getting them again. I am not filtering the water between the refugium and DT because it overflows to the return. Also your concern with the aiptasia going into the DT has happened. But the benefit for the DT is that I haven't put the carpet anemone in and can treat those with aiptasia x.

You could also try a majano wand to zap them with pumps off then scoop out as best you can with a net
