I have been doing some research and I am wondering if anyone has a spectrophotometer and can test individually what elements are in their water on demand or if this is even a concept?? imagine if we could learn to do this and get extremely accurate results on demand? obviously you can send in an icp test but it is a week+ for turnaround

With ICP-MS well into six figures, I can’t imagine any home hobbyist ever buying one to simply get quicker results.

Especially when it takes a very well trained tech to run one and analyze results. Not to mention the upkeep to keep the machine accurate and reliable

i get it, was not sure if this was something that could come to a hobbyist, or even an LFS for on demand tests. just a concept some of these machines arent that expensive. but im not sure they would serve the purpose we are looking for
