Oh no! How much of your stock can you pull out to dip/qt? BJD really sucks! Ive also seen people treat the whole tank with cipro, but i personally have not done that.
Anything that looks bad im chucking it to the trash ive done the kfc dip, dip in cipro hydrogen peroxide iodine but its very low chance it recovers. Jason fox once said… looks bad trash it.

Started with a hammer the frogspawn and last night lost a torch 😢

I've had it attack individual pieces but never go through the whole tank. It usually depends on what the cause of the BJD is whether it spreads easily or not I think.

Morning -ish all!

In other news i started designing and some test prints on an auger auto feeder got inspo from @tharbin thread. Dont think I would use it but just for fun 😂 got all the electronics in, need to splice a USB charger cable to power the motor and controller board.

I'm trying to visualize the assembly, it looks very interesting.

What CAD software are you using?

They still have the free version don't they (I use the paid version)? The free version is missing a few bits and pieces but I used it for a year or two without issue.

When they announced the paid version changes they offered reduced pricing and I jumped on it because I was thinking I might use the printer to make money. Didn't happen as you need to charge people for stuff to actually make money. Oh well, bad business model: Buy printer, buy filament, buy CAD software, give away end product. Looks like it may take a while to earn that first grand that way. It also doesn't help any that I'm a hack and don't use the software often enough to become proficient either.

That is an issue, I think it used to be ten models. I used to save out the f3d files to a local drive and remove them from my active list on a regular basis and then re-import them when needed.

It is for fun, I had a few people that needed prints and Tenecor was designing some tanks that needed rectangular feed cups so I thought, will it will pay for my filament anyway. Didn't happen, Tenecor folded and I can't stand the idea of charging friends for a pile of melted plastic.

I think they did away with the 10 active models thing on the latest update. It was dumb anyways. You can have as many models as you want, you just had to toggle them between 'editable' and 'non editable', which one could do to any model at any time. I really haven't found anything i cant do with the free version that ive wanted to do.

I never ran into anything I couldn't do either. The only tangible difference for me is that if someone offers me a thousand and one dollars for a power supply holder, I can accept it.

There are a few people, at least, on here that are very familiar with Glass Cages. I bet that @dantimdad could both give you pointers and point to several other members on R2R that are very familiar with Glass Cages.

I swear by them. I have literally owned or setup dozens and never had one fail except one where I didn’t build the stand the customer paid a cabinet maker. The tank failed in two weeks. I had warned him I didn’t trust it.

Joe and Todd are two of the best people you will deal with. I was Tom’s last customer and their first in the same day. lol. You might say I’ve been around them a while.

The best advice I have is listen to their suggestions. They have been in the glass business before the tank business forever. They know what they are talking about.

Here’s the last tank Tom sold me.

This is what im looking at:

Tank: 60 × 30 × 24
  • Low-iron front + both sides
  • 1/2” low-iron eurobrace with concealed waterline
  • Black silicone & seam guards
  • Concealed sand line
  • Polycarbonate mesh lids with feeding portal
  • Modular Marine 1600 overflow (back center)
  • Dual returns
  • Black vinyl back
  • Starboard bottom
  • cord cutouts
  • White cabinet stand, 38” tall, modern doors, right-side access panel, leveling feet
anything that i might need in the future i cant think of today? More holes?
