I've got a BRS RODI unit. I'm due to change my membrane and filters and I was reading into SpectraPure's 90 GPD and changing my flow restrictor. I noticed on the spectrapure membrane instructions it advises to change the flow restrictor every time the membrane is changed. It got me wondering if I was supposed to be doing this with the BRS manual flush valve with build in flow restrictor? I've never done it.

Also, does anyone know if I'm able to swap the flow restrictor out inside the flush valve or do I need to buy/size a whole new flush valve? My thought was I could remove the restrictor in the flush valve and proceed to follow Spectrapure's instructions installing their flow restrictor.

My flow restrictor is not connected to my flush valve.
Looks like this

Since the new style is an all in one and only 10.00 I would just buy a new one

That's what I was thinking but I'm struggling to find the ml rating for spectrapure's 90gpd membrane.
I'm working with this
Unfortunately SpectraPure doesn't give up the goods on ml ratings. This is their flow restrictor

I'll probably just stick with the 75gpd DOW, seems like a headache. I don't see replacement of the flow restrictor with membrane replacement mentioned on BRS, that's a plus. Just heard great things about SpectraPure and was going to give it a go.

To convert from gpd to ml/minute, divide by 0.38.

90/0.38=236.8

Flow Restrictor Sizeproduct/clean water (ml/min) (determined by membrane)waste water (ml/min)(determined by flow restrictor)ratio of waste water to product water

I have a BRS rodi unit and ended up getting a Spectrapure 90g membrane without thinking about changing the flow restrictor. Should I get the 800ml restrictor from brs or stay with the 550ml I currently use? Although based off this product from SpectraPure it says the 550ml should be fine. Any ideas?
thanks!

Fun fact: Any Filmtec 75 gpd membrane will produce 90 gpd if you run it at 60 psi.

My BRS with the 150 gallon per day upgrade will produce between 192 to 205 GPD at 75 psi My first Ten Gallons was on October 5, 2018. The only thing I’ve had to replace is the first Sediment Filter. 1 and 1 on the TDS, after a minute or two of running. Guess my well water isn’t that bad after all. BTW I’ve checked it with other TDS Meters as I was suspicious the built in TDS were wrong.
