You will need longer screws for the ati fixture if you opt to use the holes in the fixture. If not you will have to drill the fixture and uses other screws that you will also have to supply.

I have two bars on my ati. I didn’t want to alter the ati housing so i put two metal bars across the top and mounted the supplied mounting brackets to the metal piece. Plenty of ways to do it but the screws in the ati fixture are too small to work and you’d probably want more than one screw per side. Worth some work though

Personally I did the same but used 2 wood strips. Mainly to that the bars before I made it permanent.

I just want to say that I have 4 of these lights. 2 reef day, 1 blue, 1 uv. All are 90 degree lenses except for the 1 uv (120 degree lens). I have a canopy on my 90 long so I think its like 4-6 inches from the water. It’s also my only light source.

Originally I had just the 2 reef day and 1 uv, but it was a bit “purple” to me. Then I got the blue one and i was happy with how all the colors blended in. If you go with just their blue lights, it really brings the colors out of all your corals, but some people (like me) may find it “windex”-like if it’s the only light on.

PAR wise, i got 250 on the sand with all lights on (Apogee mq200). I do have the lights angled in a way to prevent shadowing from under any sps (I hope it grows faster), but i did move the sensor around the sand and they are pretty evenly lit. I also have a spot on my scape (highest point in my tank) thats like maybe 10-12” away from the water line and this spot was recording over 500 in the par meter. So maybe all my lights are hitting that specific spot (kinda doubt it, need to fix the angles of the light this weekend), but my 1” WD frag encrusted quickly and sprouted a branch right away.

PS: i don’t think these bars create any hotspots just because it’s a long bar (not like LED pucks), so i personally call them “hotlines” because...you know...bars=long lines...yes(?) jkjk

Not at all! I’ve been reading here a lot lately about people changing some of the lights on the bars and I left mine stock/factory setting. It looks “whiter” than what I’m used to when i turn off the uv and blue bars. If they’re all on, it looks perfect (to me). I even messed with it by leaving 2 reefday and 1 blue lights on and turning off the uv bar and you can’t tell the difference (uv light basically is not overpowering in a visual way)

Have you tested swapping the fixtures around to see if color changed depending what was closer to the front

Not exactly sure what you mean, but I have it mounted in my canopy as 1 reef day in the front, then uv in the middle, then the blue next to it, then the other reef day in the back. So both reef days are angled in towards the center of the whole tank (to avoid possible future shadowing from sps corals) and both uv and blue are shooting straight down

I would think if you had the blue up front then a reefday then uv and then reefday it would appear more blue because you would be looking through the blue light first.

Or120 sky blue with ATI
the mounting plate is secured to the fixture from holes that were created only for attaching the or120 not the screws or screw holes from the ati fixture. You can even see one on the bottom, those are the holes we want to use vs drilling holes in our fixtures that way we could revert it back to normal if when we make a change
