Just wondering what everyone here does for cable management? I’ve got a real rats nest of cables going every which way. Hidden from plain view inside and behind the stand, but whenever I open it up, there is it, like an eldritch horror come to haunt me.

Four temperature probes, two heaters, auto top off sensor/power/freshwater line, refugium power, ventilation fan, return pump all coming from inside the stand, then two more off the aquarium lights.

So many cables.

I use my 10g ATO reservoir to conceal my cable mess. You can use velcro tape to mount your controllers and the top of the ATO is perfect for a doser.

Hers my setup. 20g long tank with a refugium kit. I use 2 kasa power strip which are wifi capable so I am able to turn of any equipment I want. Especially useful for water changes and maintenance.

Cable ties and 3M hooks inside the cabinet. Label maker to label all the plugs at the powerstrip also.

I’m using the adaptive reef control board mount and a few cable management conduits from Amazon on my new tank

I have mounting board along with automotive wire harness strips which hide them cleanly and nicely

I built my own DIY sump and located, probably too much, everything cramed together in the aquarium stand.
Needless to say there were cables everywhere.
To keep them out of the way, and out of my sump, I put about twenty small hooks in the roof of my cabinet.
Then when I bundled up the excess wire, using velcro straps, I could hook both ends of the wire loops onto the hooks.
The cabinet is still a mess, but the mess primarily confined to the roof of the cabinet.
Also, I have a GFI receptical built into the cabinet and two power strips. I mounted the power strips at the top to keep water off of them and also to help keep the wires confined primarily to the roof, up and out of the way.

I use plastic cable raceways in the stand. Then I built a box with a lid that sits behind the stand. All of the excess wire, power bricks, and pump controllers are in there.

Take your time. Unfortunately my swap to this tank was a bit rushed. If I had a few days with the stand without it filled and running, this could have been a ton cleaner.

Cable raceway conduit, personally wouldnt use loads of cable ties or cable wraps that essentially tie the cables together as its a pain to remove something, then you need to go through the cable management all over

I only wish I had that much space inside my stand. I’ve got about 6” of space on either side of the sump and maybe 10” above it.

I ended up going with hooks to hang and separate all the cables. Nowhere as neat and tidy as your piece of pretty, but it’s much less of a mess than before.

As long as it looks better, just for info, ive probably 6" on one side of the sump and its up against the side on the right, i do have a bit extra headroom though
