A very bum deal. Mine passed last year with lymphoma. So sorry to hear about skeletor and wishing your family the best!

No UTI, no kidney issues, no fever.

She did a single view X-ray because of his weird breathing thing. Don't like it. There is what looks to be some sort of lesion on his lung. She's forwarding to the oncology team we're seeing next week.

Unfortunately, I think we'll be placing a call today to schedule at home euthanasia. He's refusing his pain pills now, he won't eat, he won't even take treats. He's struggling to get up or walk. He's clearly in pain, he trembles with every breath.

Thanks all, I've been spending a lot of time sitting here with him and staring at the peninsula tank. Thankful for that bit of peace amidst all this.

Appointment is set for Tuesday afternoon - vet will come here. We're not going to put him through the drive to Tampa for the oncology appointment. He's declining rapidly. Visibly, hour over hour.

Funny thing is....
When I bought this house and 1st moved in, there were hundreds of these 2", orange/red spiders in a fruit tree in the back yard.
I used a can of brake clean and a lighter as a flame thrower to kill them. But they had a hard shell so it just burnt the legs off. Luckily I had backup. So when they fall,my buddy would stomp them out.
Of course it was night so im sure everybody saw. No fires started.
That's just how we do things down here

Sunday he collapsed in the yard while peeing. We had to help him out to the yard with a sling because he was so weak, we took it off because it was in the way of his ability to pee, and he fell. We ended up having to carry him back in the house and lay him in his bed. After a few hours of him not trying to even get up again we called and moved the appointment to Monday morning, we couldn't stand to let him go an additional day in pain. Sunday night I slept on the floor with him, Matt slept on the couch next to me. We were physically and emotionally wrecked for the next couple days. Today was my first day back to work, it helped distract - I think? I miss him so much though.
